Your Thoughts

There are five comments.

An iconic building that will be lost in the new development and hardly visible from the north shore of the Thames. Such a pity that some european architect has been allowed to run riot in producing a scheme that doesn't sit with its better neighbour - but fights it.

The building does stand out among its neighbors. An interesting landmark. Restoring it is another matter, depending on the cost and will the project improve the surrounding neighborhood.

If a quarter of the money that has been ploughed into the 2012 Olympic Games had been given over to restoring this "Old Lady of Battersea", London would have at least have an Iconic building for future generations.

Dont destroy it, it's a part of your history and it seem to be in good shape and I read that it has has a luxurious interior... Well I may not be objective cause I'm a london lover, but it's got style !

It would make a great cinéma - Wednesday, August 13th, 2008 @ 4:08pm

As a Londoner born and bred under old smokey, (just down the road ) it would be a big Black Eye if it is not restored, also 3 members of my family work there, so I am very fond of the old girl. DO NOT DESTOY OUR HISTORY.
